I’m having trouble soldering a wire to a circuit board it will stay but when i reassemble it it comes off.?
To be precise it is an xbox 360 controller im trying to mod to make a turbo switch the wire will stick and maybe 5min later it will pop off and i have to solder it back on any way to keep it on?
correction: is there any way to keep it on
If I use glue what kind of glue should I use to not interfere with the connection?
I have scraped off the protective covering on the board and it still wont stick.
You cannot use a solder connection to support any force at all.
So either you are making cold solder connections or in the reassembly there is some pull on the wire.
Next time you solder it, give it a small yank after it cools. If it comes off, you are making cold solder joints. You need to heat it up more until the solder is liquid, then DO NOT MOVE IT until the solder solidifies.
Use a blob of glue or something to hold the wire in place. Do not depend on the solder joint to hold anything in place.
