Modding Xbox Controllers and selling?

I work for a design and manufacturing company, i have capability to remodel and xbox controller with new buttons and layout and even cast them into metal if i want, but i will need to use already bought controllers for the circuit board, triggers, and d-pad. My question is would this infringe on any existing pattens that Microsoft owns or any other company that sells off brand controllers?
i will be changing the bottom side, putting buttons under the controller, still using the buttons on top but also have them under the controller, and having rapid fire toggles on them.

Nope. plenty of people are selling moded controllers and xbox cases on eBay. eBay even has a filtering option to search for moded contrllers. As long as you dont change the shape it will be fine.
